Kyykkä is centuries old team sport originally developed in Karelia. The main goal is to get kyykkäs (small wooden blocks) out of the game field  by throwing karttus (wooden sticks) at them. The less throws a team uses, the better. Kyykkä can be played as a single player game, two member team game or four member team game. Academic kyykkä is played in four member teams.
